Algorithm to identify whether an output (image or video) is real or generated by AI.

Based on the resource ‘Video generation models as world simulators’ and the difference between deterministic and probabilistic models.

Image Identification as Real or Generated

Decompose an image into blocks (tiles) and use an AI model to select those that are most likely to be measured deterministically (based on the physics of light, fluids, etc.). Then, measure some of these blocks (approximately 1/30 or less of the total image) and observe how the measurements vary using a deterministic model (faithful to the physics of reality, computationally demanding). If the image significantly deviates from the model, it can be inferred that it is generated by AI (probabilistic model).
